![]() Reflecting on a year in the life of the Spaulding family, Tom and Douglas are the two sons, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, even great-grandma and the various interactions, traditions, and resistance to the inevitable change that comes as time goes on. He draws us into a 1920s suburbia possibly more rural than urban. ![]() Set in Bradbury’s hometown of Waukegan, IL (aka Green Town), Bradbury draws us into life in simpler times. Many of the themes of this book revolve around every day concerns like growing older, changing times, nostalgia, and the constant change of seasons around us. Ray Bradbury is an excellent writer and in “Dandelion Wine” he takes on different themes compared to his strictly science fiction books, think “Fahrenheit 451” and “The Martian Chronicles.” ![]() Wow! I know this book is a “classic” but also this was a really good book. ![]()
